INGREDIENTS:
6 oz. chocolate chips
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. milk
1 tbsp. butter
1/2 c. chopped nuts
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt
3/4 c. butter
1 1/2 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 c. rolled oats
DIRECTIONS:
Melt chocolate chips, salt, milk and 1 tablespoon butter in double boiler. Add chopped nuts and vanilla. Let set.
Sift together flour, soda and salt. Cream together butter and brown sugar. Add eggs and vanilla. Stir in dry ingredients. Add rolled oats. Press 2/3 of batter in greased cake pan. Spread chocolate filling over. Crumble rest of batter over top. Sprinkle with 1/2 cup very fine nuts. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes or light brown. Let cool. Cut. Enjoy.
