INGREDIENTS:
1/2 c. (1 stick) butter
1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
1 can (14 oz.) sweetened condensed milk (not evaporated milk)
1 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 can (3 1/2 oz.) flaked coconut (1 1/3 c.)
1 c. chopped nuts
DIRECTIONS:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees (325 degrees for glass baking dish). In a 9 x 13 baking pan, melt the butter in the heated oven. Sprinkle crumbs evenly over the melted butter; pour sweetened condensed milk evenly over crumbs. Top with chocolate chips, then the coconut, then the nuts. Press down firmly. Bake in 350 degree oven for 25-30 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool. Chill if desired. Cut into bars. Store loosely covered at room temperature.
Other cookie crumbs or oatmeal may be substituted as well as other flavors of chips or dried fruits, or candies, or marshmallows.
