Brown Sugar Pudding

INGREDIENTS:
2 c. water
1 c. brown sugar

2ND PART:

1 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. raisins or 1 c. raisins & nuts mixed
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 tbsp. melted butter
1 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. milk

DIRECTIONS:
Boil first part until sugar dissolves. Mix ingredients in second part and pour into greased deep pan. Pour first part over and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Serve hot or cold. Pudding makes its own sauce while baking.

Cardamom Cookies

Ingredients:

1 cup unsalted Butter
2 cups Sugar
2 tsp Cardamom Powder (Elaichi)
4 Eggs
2 cups Fine Wheat Flour (Maida)
1 tsp Salt

How to make cardamom cookies:

* In a bowl, beat the butter, sugar and cardomom powder fro 3 minutes.
* Then with the beater going add the eggs one at a time.
* When the mixture gets light take it out in a bowl and add the flour and salt with a light hand.
* When a soft dough gets prepared with the help of a spoon drop them on a nonstick cookie sheet.
* Place them 1/2″ apart.
* Bake these cookies in a preheated oven at 325 F for 10 – 11 minutes or till the cookies have a golden color.
* Repeat the baking procedure for the remaining dough.

Brown Sugar Pound Cake

INGREDIENTS:
2 sticks butter
1/2 c. Crisco
1 box light brown sugar
1 c. white sugar
5 eggs
1 c. Carnation milk
3 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla flavoring

DIRECTIONS:
Cream together butter, Crisco, and brown and white sugar. Add eggs, one at a time. Add vanilla, flour and milk alternately. Cook at 325 degrees for 1 1/2 hours. Do not open door during baking time.

ICING:

1/2 c. butter
1 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. milk
2 c. sifted confectioners’ sugar

Melt butter, add brown sugar. Boil 2 minutes, stirring constantly. Add milk and bring to boil again. Remove from heat. Cool until lukewarm. Add confectioners’ sugar.
