INGREDIENTS:
1 c. butter, softened
1 1/2 c. brown sugar
3 eggs
3 c. unsifted flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 lb. dates, chopped
1 lb. walnuts, chopped
1/2 lb. golden raisins
1/2 c. whiskey
1 (10 oz.) maraschino cherries, drained and cut in halves
DIRECTIONS:
Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs. Beat until ingredients are combined. Mix flour and soda. Stir in dates, walnuts, raisins and whiskey. Batter will be stiff.
Drop from teaspoon onto ungreased cookie sheet. Top each with cherry halves. Bake in preheated oven 350 degrees 12 minutes or until done. Store in airtight container. Makes 6 dozen.
