INGREDIENTS:
1 c. butter
1/2 c. sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. baking powder
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. salt
3 c. flour
1/2 tsp. lemon juice
DIRECTIONS:
Beat together the butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla until creamy. Add dry ingredients and lemon juice, then chill for several hours. Roll out; use a hose stocking over the rolling pin and a pastry cloth if wanted so the dough won’t stick. Roll out in powdered sugar instead of flour. Cut into shapes. Bake at 375 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes. When cool, these can be decorated with colored powdered sugar frosting if desired.
