INGREDIENTS:
1/3 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1 egg, beaten
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
2 1/2 c. sifted flour
1/2 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
DIRECTIONS:
Cream sugar and shortening well, add egg and blend together. Sift together dry ingredients and add to creamed mixture alternately with the milk. Stir in vanilla. Chill.
Roll out to 1/16 inch thickness on pastry cloth. Cut in Christmas designs. Brush with egg white or decorate as desired. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 to 20 minutes. Makes about 100 (2 inch) cookies.
