INGREDIENTS:
4 c. sugar
8 c. flour, unsifted
2 1/2 c. butter
3 eggs, well beaten
Nuts
Colored sugar
Sprinkles, for decorations
1 egg, for coating
DIRECTIONS:
You need a very large bowl for mixing. Rub together sugar, flour and butter until like sand. Slowly add eggs and mix well (will be very stiff). Roll small amounts at a time about 1/8″ thick. Cut into holiday shapes and place on cookie sheet. Brush with beaten egg with a little water added. Decorate and cook in a moderate 350 degree oven, until a delicate brown. Will store in an air-tight container for a long time. Makes around 12 to 14 dozen, according to the size of the cutter.
