INGREDIENTS:
2 1/4 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. shortening
1 teaspoon nutmeg (sift in with flour)
1 c. sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 tbsp. milk
DIRECTIONS:
Sift flour, salt, nutmeg and baking powder together. Cream shortening and sugar together. Add eggs and vanilla, then add sifted ingredients and milk. Roll out on floured board and cut out with Christmas cookie cutters.
Decorate with colored sugars. If you are going to frost the cookies bake them before you decorate. Bake on baking sheet at 350 degrees for 12 minutes or until brown around the edges.
Makes 36 cookies.
