INGREDIENTS & DIRECTIONS:
Chocolate chips in a favorite oatmeal base produce the ultimate cookie. A great favorite. 2 c. brown sugar, packed 2 eggs 1 tsp. vanilla 2 c. all-purpose flour 1 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. baking soda 2 c. rolled oats 2 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips 3/4 c. med. coconut
Cream butter and sugar together. Beat in eggs one at a time. Add vanilla. Add remaining ingredients. Mix well. Drop by spoonfuls onto greased baking sheet. Bake in 350 degree oven for about 8-10 minutes. Makes 5 dozen.

INGREDIENTS:
1 c. sugar
3 tbsp. cocoa
1/2 c. milk
3 tbsp. peanut butter (optional)
1 capful vanilla
3 to 6 c. oatmeal
DIRECTIONS:
Mix sugar, cocoa and milk together; bring to a boil. Have cold water ready maybe add 2 ice cubes in the dish. After 3 minutes of boiling, drop mixture in cold water. Pinch together if it forms a hard ball it is done. Remove from heat, add remaining ingredients. Add oatemal until mixture is used up; might not take full cups, drop cookies onto wax paper. Let harden about 1/2 hour. Ready to eat with a glass of milk.

1 c. shortening
1 c. white sugar
1 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. soda
2 c. flour
2 c. quick cooking oats
1 c. nuts
1 c. coconut
2 tsp. vanilla
DIRECTIONS:
Combine shortening, white sugar, brown sugar, eggs and vanilla flavoring. Stir in dry ingredients, oats, nuts and coconut. Drop on lightly greased cookie sheet. Flatten slightly with fork.
These cookies could have been called just plain Oatmeal Cookies but I like this name better. It suggests that there is some one special in my life and that I delight in pleasing him. Real home cooking is a happy combination of culinary ability, understanding and love.
