Recipe ingredients:
* 1 cup shortening
* 2 cups packed brown sugar
* 2 eggs
* 1/2 cup buttermilk
* 3 1/2 cups flour
* 1 teaspoon soda
* 1 teaspoon salt
Recipe method:
* Mix shortening, sugar, eggs and milk.
* Blend in dry the ingredients and cover and chill for 1 hour.
* Heat oven to 400 degrees F.
* Drop dough by rounded teaspoons about 2 inches apart onto greased baking sheet.
* Bake 8 to 10 minutes.
