SUGAR COOKIES
DIRECTIONS:
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
Cream together: 1 c. sugar 2 eggs 1 tsp. vanilla (real vanilla)
Mix together and add to creamed mixture: 1 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. salt
Chill in covered bowl for at least 1 hour (may be stored for a few days).
Take 1/2 of mixture and roll on lightly floured board or table, cut out, place on ungreased cookie sheet (use colored sprinkles if desired). Bake for 6-8 minutes or until light golden brown. Cool on cookie sheets then remove. You may frost if desired. If you would like to hang on tree make a hole before baking. Then use ribbon or string to hang. It is fun to have a cookie tree to share with guests.
Keep remaining dough refrigerated until rolled. (You may substitute almond extract if you wish for vanilla.)
