Beat together: 1 c. butter
Add. 1 tsp. almond extract 1/2 tsp. soda 3 c. flour
Chill dough. Roll out. Bake at 400 degrees until brown.
FROSTING:
Beat 3 large egg whites until foamy. Beat in 1 1/2 teaspoons almond or vanilla extract and 3 1/2 cups powdered sugar. Use food colors to dye frosting. After putting on frosting, let dry. Then use a paint brush and food color to paint on cookies.
